    Talking New to the site

hi all just joined the site today as i went and got myself a 51 plate dommi yesterday.... been looking for one for a while and finally found one in london. near mint condition 6000 miles still had tools/instruction book/all factory documentation. only problem no stamps in the service book (has receipt for an intermeadiate) so i will get one done soon. paid £2600 (from dealer) but got them to throw in a pair of leather trousers gloves and an Aria Tour Cross lid. think i did ok....

been looking around the site looks good i will get some pics up when i get a chance, a couple of questions if i may....

    1. i need to replace the right hand wing mirror anyone know how easy they are to find. (seen on on wemoto)
    2. can you fit a mud guard/crud catcher to the rear wheel.
    3. bike been sat since dec last year so may need a battery (battery been charged by shop) is this norm for a three month lay up or is it worth getting a new battery

look forward to having some fun on the bike and the site

    simon

Thumbs up Re: New to the site

    Welcome on board!!

I dunno about any of the bits you've asked about, except that it sounds like a fine deal you got yourself, and the battery? Well that depends on how cold and humid it was and if it was the original battery. If its 51, then the bike is nigh on 6 years old and by now I would not be surprised if the battery no longer held its charge as long and hence went flat after sitting through the winter!

But lets get down to business: what you really want (and need, even if you don't know it yet) is a Laser Produro race can, and a 120 front rim and 150 rear rim spoked onto your original hubs. London will no longer be a city full of traffic and potholes, but your own personal playground that you gracefully let other drivers use, provided they do not hamper your fun. I had a Dommie with 17 inch wheels and it was a hoot!! (why the feck did I sell it?!?!)

    Welcome to the site...enjoy

I think 17 inch super moto wheels would make excellent compensation for the trauma you have suffered following you Discoveryt's petrolisation.

Its scientifically proven, I tell you!

To be sure I would fork out for a new battery then would be sure of no problems.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: New to the site

i was kind of thinking that but you two just convinced me the cost of a battery has to be worth not having the hassle of a dead batt on a fine riding morning...
