    Dommie handlebars

    Just got my Dommie yesterday...

    Is this a normal mod?

Looks like someones been busy. Just a comfort thing. Try with the risers and without, see what you prefer.
Same with the forks, looks like they've been dropped though a fare way. Top of the forks are normally level with the top clamps.

I had my forks dropped by about that much and found the handling, on the road, a little better. Shorter wheelbase so it turns a bit sharper. If you want to go green laneing then I'd suggest raising the yolks (triple clamps) up.

Ah OK, long as its nothing too sinister thats OK.
I've removed the riser bits now, so will have a play and see how it goes.

    Thanks for the replies.

looks a right lash to me agricultural to say the least, square head coach bolts with a nuts attached 2 old handlebar brackets turned up side down, give the bike a good once over just for your own peace of mind make sure nothing else is lashed up dangerously, i would at least have found some proper bolts those would not have the tensile strength of proper handlebar bolts, they are designed to bolt brackets too wooden gates etc

Aye, I realised that once I'd got the buggers off.
Fortunately I have some proper bolts that I've fitted now.

I'm giving the bike a good old strip down, service, lube and clean at the weekend to make sure there are no other little horrors awaiting me.

I haven't a manual, don't suppose there is a PDF one floating around anywhere, this is my first big 4 stroke single, would be handy to have one.

To hear is to obey - try here - Manual Download on the menu bar to the left, then it's section by section. Admittedly it's for the '91 model, but they changed very little over the years.

    You're welcome
