cylinder head bolts....

Two questions:
1:
Ok, so i bought a 2ft breaker bar yesterday and got 4 of the 6 bolts loose. And with very little effort too. Worth the £19.99 from Halfords. However one has rounded and the other is starting to.
Do I drill out the not head and then once pressure and barrel is off just take off remaining bits or is this sounding to easy?

2:
How and what with, do I take the camchain tensioner holding screw out of the side of the head?

Re: cylinder head bolts....

For the head bolts get a single hex socket. (six sided instead of 12).

For the cam tensioner,
Take out bolt 11 in the pic. Then find something to fit in the hole on the top of No 5. Think I used an allen key. You use the allen key as a lever to release the tension.

Re: cylinder head bolts....

The tensioner shaft with the slot on the end doesn't have to come out the get the chain/head off. Once the tension is off, or once the cam chain and sprocket are out of the way, you can get hold of the slot with a pair of pliers and pull it out.
Must have bolt 11 out though.

Re: cylinder head bolts....

One 2ft breaker bar and a deep reach six sided 12mm socket and all is well. Infact it made things almost easy!
