    Iridium plugs

Just done my usual 2,000 mile service (obsessive!). Bought an iridium plug for the first time. Bike is smoother more responsive on the throttle and seems to tick over much better. £8.99 at Halfords. Just my imagination or has anyone else found the same?

Yep, ditto but with a platinum plug (couldn't get Ir at the time). Fires up easier too.

Come to think of it, it's been in there for 20k miles now... Maybe I should get a new one some time.

don't want to be a party pooper but I tthink it's your imagination

I went from 'standard' to iridium and back again and found no noticeable differance...unless it's my imagination that there was no difference

Splitfire?? iridium??? platinum??? how can the spark be that much better really tried splitfires on the rd, no difference tried u grooved densos as well no difference, good old copper core NGK,s are as good as anything i reckon. and also if you replace a worn out plug especially resistor ones things will be better no matter what you replace it with, maybe the iridium last longer dunno but all i,know is i will go with what is recommended from now and change em regularly

    Re: Iridium plugs

OK, I changed back to a new NGK correct spec etc and I immediately noticed the difference. Not my imagination it really does seem to improve response and running. I'm off to Provence on Wednesday so I'll monitor the fuel consumption v the last 5 trips.

I'm not normally taken in by sales patter but it seems NGK have developed an improved product.
