    Poor idle running

    Hiya,

Okay here is the problem, the bike runs fine, no flat spots, new exhaust gaskests, replaced air filter with a foam one (not KN), iridium spark plug, no excess smoke out exhausts, ok can slightly smell fuel in warm air from running, but not overflowing.

ok now the bike starts on first pop warms up fine i drive to work about 15 miles but it doesnt seem to like it when i pull up to junctions or over to the pub when it loves to just stall (embarrasing!), i havent had the ike long so its always done this, hence me changing filters oil etc which has helped but if i come to a roundabout i have to either increase revs or blip it every few seconds. I dont want to increase the idle speed as its set about right (13), could it be running a bit rich, i know they are set a bit rich from factory. oh and sometimes it sits at around 1800rpm and is fine for a minute or so. hope this is enough info.

    Thanks

Could be the choke staying on slightly.
Check it returns to its seat position when you return the lever.

They are actually super lean from the factory and putting a richer slow running jet and/or turning the idle screw out a bit normally helps the stalling problem. If you don't want to muck about changing jets I'd start with turning out (ie clockwise) the idle screw 1/2 a turn and see if it helps. If it doesn't you can screw it in again and nothing is lost!

    Re: Poor idle running

Hiya, ok i didnt mess with the mix, just started by taking the choke cable out the carb, gave it a wipe, blew an airline in the gap, replaced it and it feels like a new bike completely, much smoother all round on revs, idle, in fact the idle was too high after so i've had to drop it although the screw cable buckled in proccess.

    Thankyou guys so much!!!!

shame its lashin it down and raining!!
