my first post question about fx650 vigor rear wheel corrosion

Hi all I'm new and wonder if anyone has experienced corrosion problems with the fx650 rear wheel? My bikes rear wheel has been showing signs of corrosion for a few years now, I think that it started when I got chain lube onto the wheel rim. I noticed the other day that their is a small area where the corrosion looks quite deep. Will I need a new wheel, will one off another bike fit, is the last resort to have a wheel built by a shop? Any advice gratefully received. Cheers.

Can you post a picture of the corrosion?

Might help ascertain how bad the corrosion actually is...

That is a lot of money :S

The other option is to have a look around at wheel builders

Hagon do a service, of rebuilding, custom building, and modifying wheels...

I dare say other people may know of more builders...

I personally, would have a look for a second hand wheel...

I'll see if I can get a photo of the damage £400 not looking too good. I thought that I had heard that corrosion is a known problem with these bikes, is that not the case then?
