hasslin power rangers

Had a fabulous blast down the A7 last night, chasing a sports bike , roads quite quiet, both of us giving it some, not had an evening like that in a while. power ranger in his coordinated leathers was probably a bit miffed. The bike is a nightmare on a bypass at 80, but on the back roads wringing its neck, it is great fun. I love big singles

Re: hasslin power rangers

This power ranger must have been scared of it if you were keeping up on an slr

I got rid of my slr in favour of a vfr800 and it's unreal how much faster i can get through the twisty's
I must admit though, the fun factor from the slr is something i miss

Re: hasslin power rangers

must admit i had a good dice with a rsv mille a couple of months ago but he was leaving me for dead on the straights, i dont think he knew the road cos i was catching him on the bends, i have been riding it on and off for 35 years
also was catching him when cars held him back

Re: hasslin power rangers

That was my point guys, his leathers and lid would probably have bought my bike two times over. i know my SLR is a bit gutless but i kept up with him as he clearly had plenty of dosh for cool toys but no ability to use what he had bought or he would have left me for dead

As a caveat to that there are loads of folks on here that have downsized from sportsbikes to thumpers and know how to push their bikes and abilities to the limit

Re: hasslin power rangers

I had a 125cc sportbike (TZR125) and then moved to the CB500, and I wasnt too bad at riding them (could leave many of my friends)...

But moving to the FX650, its weird...before, if the back wheel stepped out of line, I backed off, because it felt a bit dodgy....the VIgor though, is the opposite, its amusing when the back wheel starts to slide :S

Thumpers also teach you that straight line speed isnt everything...being able to corner well is better really...

My neighbour has got a CBR900 which he loves....my little Vigor cant keep up at all on the straights...but through the corners, its the opposite...

Wont be able to part with my thumper....

Oh and well done for showing the power ranger how to ride :P
