gotta agree with switch, drilles a fs1e kickstart shaft once it snapped in a very short time , not critical on a bike you could put in gear and grab the back wheel to start it

but without ya gearchange shaft you are looking at big bucks repair and breakdown service to get ya home, unless you have a freind with a bit of rope

One could use a spanner to stick the bike in 2nd (for city) or 3rd. You'll burn a bit of clutch but it will get you home. However a broken shaft could lead to oil loss and possibly internal gearbox damage.

Hi

I've got an SLR650 and need a replacement gear lever but am struggling to find one online. I assume the Dominator/NX are similar but I'm thrown by what was mentioned a page or 2 earlier - to use a C90 gear lever!?

Have I just got this wrong, but looking on Ebay this lever is completely different and has 2 pedals on it etc??

Take some of the butting surface off the gear lever to make it clamp tighter ,it just might work .
Without seeing the problem and the damage done it's a bit hard to advise you

Just thought of this .............
Put the gear lever in the possition you want ,get an angle grinder and grind a decent size grove in both the shaft and the clamp,get a peice of good quality steel (silver steel) that fits and weld onto 'one side only' of the clamp part of the gear lever ,if you weld it on both it wont clamp anymore.
Would that work?

My gear lever has a bit of slack on it. So im looking to replace it. What gear levers go on the dominator?

Just the NX/XR pedals or are the more options cos i cant find any. Only one overpriced 2nd hand pedal but i want to fix it properly and not end up with the same problem again so i rather get a new one.
