    Blowing exhaust

I have a Laser pro exhaust on my 94 dominator, I noticed yesterday that it was blowing where the middle section joins the front pipes.
I took the system apart and re-assembled with exhaust paste which was blown straight out when I started it up.At the moment the middle section just slides over the front pipes is this right or should it be clamped in any way?
    Thanks in advance
    Paul

I agree it should be clamped but the ends of the middle section have no cut-outs or slots that would close up when clamped.
Should I take it back off and cut slots with a hacksaw?

It seems strange that it would have a set-up like that.

...But yeah if it was me,i'd cut some slits in it.

    Thanks for your help.
I will try re-sealing with paste before the drastic measure of getting the saw out!
