SLR Engine pipes?

I need some help Identifying a couple of pipes that come out of the Barrel on an SLR I have.
I want to use the Barrel off of it but Don't know what they do?
They come around the left hand side and seem to connect to the air box?
Are they necessary or can they just be blanked off?
Cheers
Darren.

Re: SLR Engine pipes?

yes i got a kit from US ebay a couple of stainless plates and a plug for the airbox bike seems better without it and chatting to local bike shop owner he removes from most bikes he fits aftermarket exhausts on, he said they are the biggest waste of money and resources aver causing popping andbackfiring in the exhaust etc, only put there too inject a bit of air into the exhaust too fool emissions checks into thinking the emissions are cleaner than they are
