    Re: MOT day

I've got mine tomorrow and guess what??? The Dommie refused to start this morning . I think it's the starter motor brushes as a gentle tap on the side of it gets it spinning. I think they call it Sods Law. I'm going to have a busy evening taking it all apart and cleaning the brushes up - I only put them in 12 months ago so they can't have worn out already, can they?

Let us know how you get on with your MOT.

    Re: MOT day

Idiot tester failed it on a distorted rear disc. went down to collect the bike armed with the specs, minimum thickness 4.0mm and maximum runout 0.3mm. asked him what the runout was and he didnt seem to even know what the term meant. he just kept saying it was distorted. he just couldnt grasp that a specification meant nothing unless it was measurable. and he did not measure it. checked the runout last night at 0.2 mm. so i wipped it of and am going to take a minimum skim of on the lathe at lunchtime today, measured it at 4.8 mm so plenty meat on in for a skim. at least he said he would not charge anything for a partial retest. last time i will use the muppet though.
