    Question Kickstart

    Hi.

Would it be possible to fit a kickstart to the FX 650 Vigor?

Just been thinking about it, as I take the bike offroad a bit and last thing I want is a non start because of a dead battery. (It never sounds like it will start anyway...always does though, after a spin or two)

I dont know if the SLR had a kickstart?

The dommie did though and being the basically the same engine I just wondered...

    Thanks in advance

I would be suprised if the crank cases were different from slr to Dominator. There's only one way to find out.
I guess you'll need all the kick start mech, a domi clutch cover with a hole in and maybe an idler gear with goes between the kick start gear and clutch.

As far as I know, you can't fit a kick on dommies older than 88-89. That being said, I doubt you'd be able to add a kick on an FX/FMX/SLR.

Why, are the crank cases different? And did you mean newer than 88?

newer than 1989, actually. Thanks for spotting the error!

The crank case is not guaranteed to be 100% fit. More than that, you need the internal hardware. And to make things worse, the rear brake system of the 89+ models is where the kickstart used to be.
