    Charging issues

Hi, this is my first post on the forums and was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem, i have a 1997 dominator, when the engine is running iv'e put th multimeter accross the battery terminals and i'm getting a reading of 19v, i susspect this could be the rectifier. Before spending any money on one, does anyone have any ideas as to what else it could be
    Thanks.Dave

Regulator is the favourite suspect. Time for a new one.

Sorry to have to tell you this...but you may also need to get a new battery....

19v is way too much voltage for the battery...

    You may be lucky though...

Good batteries might last longer, but you'll literally cook lousy batteries. Better not run it in this condition.
