Thumbs up NX650 Tick over trouble!

My 93,Rd02 Dominator has had all the same symtems of a unreliable tick over as many of your bikes seem to have aswell.
However i found on mine that the choke cable was too tight, even though it was fully de-adjusted.So on checking the cable i found that at the lever end at the handlebar there is a rubber sleve over the cable where it seats .I cut off this rubber sleve,re-seated the cable into the lever and i now have free play and the choke is closing right off.
I then reset the air screw on the carb to get the best idle, job done.
That was two weeks ago and its ticked over reliably every day.
I suggest you check your cables ,you never know!!

My 97 RD08 cuts out when on full right lock and no throttle once the engine is warmed up. I've just had the tank and the panels off to check the routing of the choke cable as I assumed right lock must be pushing the choke cable on somehow; couldn't see anything obviously wrong so have just finished putting it all back together. It's not a huge problem as I only seem to need full right lock and no throttle when pulling onto the drive so it usually just saves me from turning it off. Having read this thread I'll take a look at the handlebar end of the cable when I've got some free time.

My FX650 (RD09 according to the frame) doesnt have any tickover problems...:S

    It idles warm at 1400rpm

I think it stalled out twice since I had it....once when I turned the choke off too quickly, and once when an old bus pulled away leaving a thick smoke cloud...I dont think my bike liked that :S

Maybe you should just turn the idle up a bit?
