Thats a bit of an open question isnt it?

What other mods have you done?

    Different air filter? (K&N)
    Airbox mods?
    Baffle in or out :P

Apart from that, fit it, and do a plug chop....

You can always leave the choke on half (or full) and plug chop with that...
If its a good colour on the plug chop, with haklf choke, you know you need to upjet a bit...

Apart from that, I cant give you any ideas on what you will need to upjet to...

    Good luck.

    Fair enough.

I need to get a new plug to plug chop on mine....

No baffle and I get a white insulator in the centre, but only at the point where it protrudes past the base of the plug...further down it is grey/tan colour...

I would definately recommend doing a plug chop....

Apart from that, does it pull well?
Put the Choke on, and does it pull better or worse than without it?

Re: Guideline jetting for a laser NX650 exhaust

Depends on the type of laser can.

The ProDuro comes in 2 types: a straight through sports version and a street-legal version with baffles.

The latter is said to require no re-jetting, and my experience says it's fairly accurate.

For what it's worth: My dommie has a street-legal ProDuro, drop-in replacement K&N filter and amputated snorkel. My stock jets were 155/48, now I've got 153/50.

The one size up on the pilot jet together with some proper idle screw adjustment made most of the standard dommie stalling problems go away, by the way.

(And if it's got some miles on it already, replace the needle tube as it wears out and causes much richness in the midrange. That and an iridium sparkplug gave me 6 mpg more, too.)

Thats quite interesting RC... Dropping the main jet size...

My Vigor 650 has got stock jetting (165 main) with stock airbox (and filter at the moment)

I have got a custom link pipe and a CB500 sports pipe with baffles in and runs well...Makes no difference if I pull the choke on though...

Without the baffle, I find it pulls a little better with choke on...

ROCKOZ, I think you can get away with not re-jetting...sounds like its running well...

I can only assume, although Im nearly certain that mine is the street legal version as its made little difference to the noise.

    cheers guys

Re: Guideline jetting for a laser NX650 exhaust

Then either your originals were quite knackered already or you're not paying attention.

I found the noise to be not much louder but much improved anyway. Quality, not quantity.

Dropping the main jet size was not something I anticipated, it just ended up there with all my mods after having it on a dyno a few times. I suppose the original #155 jet would work as well but I lost it after a few rounds of tinkering with it.

By the way, if pulling the choke on doesn't make a difference or increases the performance then I think it's time to look at the jetting. When I pull the choke on mine (when it's properly warmed up ofcourse!) it starts hacking and wheezing immediately.
