    Dominator RD02 decelerate problem.

    Hi ppl !
    I've one strange problem!
with the bike on neutral and if I give some gas push it to 5000rpm when I release de accelerator the rpm stays high !!! (arround 3000-4000rpm ) after a while it comes down to 1500rpm ! Is there any body can tell what I should look in my bike!! a few times ago i dismantle and clean my carb, should I assembled something wrong ?

    Thanks,
    Rui

    simple things to check first

1 check Is "de accelerator" going back into postion smoothly when released

2 Check position of choke cable, make sure it is not tight and has room to move freely

    Do the checks Lam suggested.

TBH, it sounds like your choke is sticking on...
The revs usually hang when its running rich...

I'd start by looking for an air leak, and giving the carb a good muck out.

Re: Dominator RD02 decelerate problem.! New prob FUEL

    Hi again !
    Thanks for your reply !
It was a air leak ! But now I've found another problem !
My dommie drinks fuel like hell !!!! One tank 130Km's until ask for reserve !
    Dammm!
There is a magic screw on the bottom of the carburator , but now I'm confuse, should I turn clockwise or around ?

One more thing! At low rpm to engine stall (I have put a new insulator) I'm begining to suspect de carb! Where should I now look !?

    Thanks ,
    Rui

    Re: Dominator RD02 decelerate problem.

It maybe that the mixture screw at the bottom of the carb has been turned out to add more fuel as it had the air leak.
Base setting according to my manual is 3 turns out from all the way in.
Idle should be 1300rpm but a little faster can help out.
And as Lam pointed out, make sure there's some free play on the choke cable and that it's all the way off.

Another thing that will affect how much fuel, is how far your right hand twists :P

Seriously, do you keep the revs high?
Check the mixture screw etc, like catteeclan suggested...

You should really take the bike to a carb mechanic. It really sounds as if your bike's carburetor is totally out of tune.
