    Rear wheel replacement ?

    Hi,
recent MOT/ service of my 2001 Dommie finally commented on the state of the corrosion of the rear wheel, not a failure this year but.... To replace with new part from Japan , approx £600 !
Have looked at Hagon products to rebuild wheel with new rim / spokes, £200 ish alternative option have placed request with part finder to check with Breakers.
Any other ideas folks , or should I just wait until the next MOT ?

    Thks

How bad is the corrosion as my vigor has the same problem with small patches where the alloy has gone powdery to about 0.5mm deep. Is yours as bad or worse than this? Cheers!

It's pretty bad, about palm size area affected and appears to be quite deep, I'd estimate about 5 mm. The MOT comment said it appeared to show not lost of strength but it just gets progressively worse each year, as you say powdery.

There is no need for panic , check eBAY , plenty of solutions , and if you are smart , you can get it very cheaply .

    Check eBAY.uk and eBAY.de

Germany is a large paradise for used parts , even shipping , is the best priced for heavy items.

Thanks, whilst I did locate one on ebay (UK) I didn't think to check out the other ebay national variants probably cause of the thought of shipping. Vielen Danke
