Re: New Dominator owner saying hello

I've got a few questions, hope you don't mind

First of, where did you get that oil cooler? It's the one thing I *really* want on my bike! Also, fitting (tubing) information would be welcomed.

Second, where'd you find the room for the scottoiler? I'm looking into similar solutions but need a few tips on this part...

Re: New Dominator owner saying hello

Robnobrakes ,
I am really interested in the oil cooler and have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
How effective is it? It is generally accepted that the oil should be allowed to get above 80 degrees C to make sure that any water vapour trapped in the oil can be driven off otherwise you get horrible gunky oil that degrades rapidly. Does your oil get this hot? Do you have any before and after temperature figures?
Do you suffer from any foaming in the oil? The reason I ask this is because I assume that the cooler is in the return line and the return side of the pump has a capacity of almost twice the feed side, so it is pumping air half the time. As the cooler is upstream then this air has to pass through the oil held in the cooler.

Mike

Re: New Dominator owner saying hello

Re oil cooler questions: The 1st owner fitted it when the engine mods were carried out, so I have no info on it.

Oil temp is over 80 deg C when the motor is at operating temp. I am not aware of any foaming of the oil.

Centre stand was already on the bike when I bought it, so no info - sorry.

Rob

I fitted the Scottoiler onto the rear subframe (above the chain) where the left-hand silencer is normally sited (my Domi is fitted with a single Arrow exhaust system)
