Domi won't start in gear with clutch in

Bought my '95 Domi a couple of weeks ago. First bike. Thoroughly enjoying it..

Problem is that it now won't start in gear with the clutch in (as I found out when it stalled in the middle of a junction the other day) whereas it used to do it fine. Starts fine in neutral but nothing at all when in gear and clutch in.

I had been fiddling with the clutch cable adjuster, at the lever end, the other day and wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Any advise about where to start looking for the problem would be welcome.

    Thanks

The clutch lever should have a switch and its probably gone. Follow the wire and check if the plug's connected.

If it is, replace the switch. Simples

    Thanks.

Will check it when I get home on Friday.

I could hear a click when I pulled the clutch. I guess that would be some sort of relay so must be physically connected, will try and find it and check the electrics at weekend.

    Thanks

The switch may be clicking but it's quite easy to knock the connectors off of it when adjusting the cable. When putting them back on make sure the brass connectors are actually on the spade terminals rather than just the plastic sleeve sliding over it.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Mine does it all the time because I get mud in the bit at the stand end which prevents the switch from working...

Also the pads on the switch internals get oxidized with age, the switch still clicks but no voltage/current flows.

Problem solved. One of the spade connector things was disconnected. Stuck it back on and Bob's your uncle.

What kind of fool am I. To be honest I hadn't even noticed the electrical cable when I was looking before.

Thanks for all the help. Good to know that thee are so many knowlegable people around that a total bike newbie can call on.

    Thanks again.
