Looking for a tank to spray up for my 98 Domi. Is there just the 2 with the filler cap being the difference?

Hi Catteeclan, Cannot answer your question other than to ask a question: How do you get the decal of the tank without damage? as I wish to re-spray mine before refitting. I also want to repaint the plastic panels. Any advice gratefully received. Regards CLIVE.
Is that possible? I've used a hair drier on a car but the heat also makes the sticker go out of shape.
If you think of anything let us know as it'll save loads of money.

Dommies have three tank types, according to production year:
- type 1, for 88-91 dommies; has sharp termination in the lower left and right edge
- type 2, for 92-95/96 dommies; the front fairing for this one has integrated blinkers mount points for rear fairings
- type 3, for 95/96-03 dommies; the front fairing for this one doesn't have blinkers and the lower edge has rear fairing mounts
There's a bit of discrepancy here due to some models being produced in different parts of the world in different years, hence the 95/96 confusion.
I don't recall there being any difference in-between models in the same series... we ARE talking stock gas tanks, right?
Yeap stock stuff.
Many thanks.

Any chance I can interest you in an Acerbis tank? We need one-two more buyers to place the order @ Acerbis Italy![]()
Hi Switch, thanks for the offer but the tank that I have is in very good condition (one of the best bits on the bike) I just want to change the colour. Here in Jersey we are never that far away from fuel as we only have 45 square miles to ride on and when I go further afield like France (in 2 weeks time) I use my other bigger bike, the one I can't mention on this site. Regards CLIVE in sunny Jersey.
