I feel it in my knees and hands to. Don't think it's as cold here as it is up your way at the mo as I'm still getting out on the bikes, not the Domi though.

    Re: Another Winter...

I went out on my FMX last week, my fingers are only just defrosting.

Set off to work and the weather looked dry and calm, I came home in a blizzard of very wet, very slushy snow.

Frozen hands and alpinestars full of water

Lesson learnt - wait till summer

I ride my vigor to work every day all year unless the roads are frozen, I have only come off a bike three times in 35 years and each time was at low speeds on frozen snow covered roads. Last week though I went to work knowing that although it was dry there was snow forecast for later in the day but I hoped to be home before it arrived, sadly I was delayed and by the time I left work it had been snowing for a couple of hours. I made it home OK but it was squeaky bum time all the way home. Roll on the spring!

well I took the plunge, the day was nice an not cold at all, so a went out fur an hour, within 10 mins, a guy u turned right in front o me, a held ma hands up as if `hey did ye not see me comming` blinkin numpty... then two miniutes later a wis jist thru a set o lights an a guy decided tae turn into his driveway an a nearly ploughed intae the car that was behind him an me behind that car.. i had to swerve tae miss him.. it was a nearly, a`l tell you....

but all in all I liked it, ma Dommie started off the button nae bother, thats since the 24/1/10 an the last time a wis out was the 30th o November. It felt like a new toy again...roll on the better weather... cant wait fur it this year. this has been a Loooooooong winter..........

    Re: Another Winter...

Until this year I used to have a smug grin thinking about past winters in the north of England/Wales... I have lived in the Almijara mountains of S.Spain for 6 years + with only about 30 unrideble days a year.

2009, no rain at all from March to 18th December... since then we've had days on end of torrential rain, more than twice average annual rainfall, but in just 11 weeks Around every bend there seems to be a mudslide or a few boulders in the way, streams crossing the stone roads are now impassible rivers, added to that has been the olive-picking season, with lots of olives dropped on the roads (great to ride over when you're cranked over in a bend!).

BUT the good side is that I have given my SLR a total workover with the angle grinder, dropped new seals on the valve guides and should be ready to ride when spring arrives before the end of the month If my exhaust linkpipe arrives....
