A cry for carb help from Ireland

I'm also on UKGSER and a fellow Dommie owner has asked for help
    Here goes:

Would ya mind asking when you're on, if anyone has a duff carb for an 89 Dommie "K" model

My Dommie is away but it kept sooting it's plug

It seems that this wee spring in the airvalve on the side of the carb was missing, I think I am right is saying this is a Fuel enrichment valve?

Hi Folks that Cry for help came from me

Normally I am a BM fan but I got a trade in against my old beemer or a lovely Dommie K model with loads of nice wee touches and some moolah for my mitt !

I reckoned it was too nice for me and sold her on but she has kept sooting the plugs and I think I found the answer in Mungrels pic above.

Pardon me for not Subscribing but I know BeEms really really well and am unlikely to have any more Hondas BUT ya never know since I have a project XR600 as part of the deal too!

The book calls it the "air cut-off valve", page 4-9.

Same thing I suppose, reduces air on sudden throttle openings? Definitely needs a good diaphragm and spring to operate.

Sorry, don't have a spare carb.

NRP should be able to fix you up with the bits at a fraction of Honda prices.

    Tis Super tho isn't it?

You Sirrah are very good at observation!

That is why I am in here begging info on Dommies cos I don't know them that well but I am liking the most of it

You will notice I was good and Didn't ask what oil should I use

My Beemer came to me looking like this below and that was the end of the strip down phase

I like twins too; my other bike is a Buell. Tried inline 4's a couple of times, didn't like them, I prefer my vibes to be lumpy not buzzy

I dont really know but possibly a trip to a bike breakers may be your only bet...can you not get one from an slr/fmx/vigor as its the same engine ...

Burn it!? Wash your mouth out!!!

You could sell the bits on ebay if worst comes to the worst....but no burning!
