SLR650 Front Brake Master Cylinder

Hi Everyone,

My front brake master cylinder seems to be leaking, so i have temporarily replaced it with a spare one from my dads bike, a Suzuki RF900. This is of course, way too powerful for the job, as it is meant to be operating 8 pistons across 2 calipers! My plan is to buy a replacement master cylinder from eBay, but i dont know which one to get. Do you think i should stick with the original or go for a slightly more powerful one from another bike?

I'm not sure, but i think i may have heard that a Suzuki GS500 master cylinder is a popular mod for the SLR650, but i cant remember when i heard it or who from...

Any help is much appreciated.

if ya try it Rob let me know how ya get on, cos the vigor front brake is poxy compared to the RD,s 1970,s technology was good ya know, and the TDR but it has a blue spot R1 caliper

On my SLR I use a Nissin remote reservoir setup, believed from an early CBR600, with a goodridge brakeline, lots of feel and more progressive than the original.
A decent breaker should be able to provide a small bore master with remote.
If you want an original master cyl, mine would be cheap, but the postage from Spain may not be.
