Don't throw them away. Send them to the EBC chap who was on the forum a while back so they can take a look at them. Have a search for EBC and I'm sure you'll find his posts.

I was going to suggest the very same thing. It wasn't too long ago that Mr EBC (not his username, by the way) had joined the forum to discuss the very, very bad press that EBC were getting - and still are getting by the sound of it.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

    Re: EBC brake pads

I've seen this on quite a few cars and the odd bike. Normally caused by the metal backing getting stuck in the carrier bending the metal when the brake is applied.
Also crap metal rusting making the glue useless normally associated with cheap crap.

    Re: EBC brake pads

what more ebc probs stick with the genuine honda ones

I think [personal view] that the probs with these pads is that due to the honda calpiers sticking a bit sometimes they get hot in the backing plate and the glue-"you know that sticky stuff[ or as not here]" comes off or it doesnt like UK salt as always seems to happen after a winters use.

Basic advise dont buy and take a chance as these things coming loose at any speed is Bloody dangerous and could kill you or someone else

    Re: EBC brake pads

well the salt and heat should not affect any glue on brakes i reckon, after all they are designed to be used in such conditions, anyhow i have mailed andy at EBC and will be returning them to him if he wants them , but will not be fitting EBC pads ever again too anything

    Re: EBC brake pads

Well after a couple of mails with pictures too Andy at EBC they are sending me new pads, as they say these were old and rusty but then on an offroad type bike they are not going to be used in the dry and clean all the time, and he reckons they were probably from an old batch, as the bike is 6 years old and i cannot vouch for its life before i had it and the pads were in it when i got it but i have much older pads in the RD,s that are showing no signs of deterioration like this, but they have developed their pads with Lotus and since 2005 have been adding something to them that makes them more resistant too rust and sticking too cast iron discs
    so thanks Andy
