    Where to get nx650 jets

I treated my dommie on fresh oil, filters and a new spark plug recently and i found out the bike is running way to lean. (only mod is a k&N filter). Where can i get loose jets. I can only find those way over priced dynojet kits which only seem to contain some jets and a needle

great think im gonne cut the carburetor loose today and see whats in there and order some bigger jets. Can you just replace the main jet or does the rest of the carb also needs some fiddling?

    Everything is influenced by everything.

Here's a handy guide: CV Carb Tuning Procedures

You basically start out with the main jet. Get that right, then work your way down past the needle height, the idle mixture, and the float height.

It's a fiddly time consuming job...

My advice would be to splash out and stick it on a Dyno some time, to get a reliable measurement. Looking at spark plug colour hasn't been the same since they went with unleaded petrol, they're all grey now even if the bike is running rich.

What bike are we talking about anyway?

Right, nearly the same as mine then.

And bone stock except for the K&N which doesn't change much as the intake restriction is in the snorkel.

Mine ran pretty well out of the box with the stock (US-spec) #155 and #48 jets. Bit on the thin side, but not ridiculously so. The idle could do with one size bigger (#50) to take care of the idle stalling problem, and depending on how much it's done I'd replace the needle tube as well, as they tend to wear oval.

    Which jets does yours have?

I've found ordering jets pretty easy at CMSNL. As in at least they had them. I went to a local Motoport first for a #160 jet, and I guess it's still on order as I haven't heard since. Only ordered it in 2004...

how fast do they deliver? i need em this week

Dunno what jets i have had to stop yesterday cos i had other appointments so only got the plastics and tank of. Will go and have a look at the carburetor in a sec.

It doesnt stall much. It does stall sometimes mostly when the engine is hot but its not a regular thing.

Hmm this week is going to be... Ambitious.

I haven't ordered from them recently, but they can take about a week or so.

Do you know which jets you need or are you still experimenting with the setup?
