Re: fx 650 starter clutch bearing?

a trip to work yesterday was allright... quite smooth almost all the way (the engine not the traffic) same thing on the way back. but later in the night it happened again, but this time it just alot worst, jerking, exploding, went dead, and wouldnt start anymore.. had to push for about 50metres back home. Thats it! I cant wait for the weekend anymore, had to fit in the filters immediately. Took about 2hours to installed it so that the fuel line runs smoothly, the distance between the fuel tap & carb were very close making things more difficult. finally had to turn it around the frame, making the filter visible. dont really like this cause if parked in a quite area the petrol can easily be pinched!! But it was late and had to be content with this one. Didnt start the bike untill the next morning. Starting up was abit difficult but it seems good! Rode all the way to work with no problems and hopefully they wont be anymore drama.
    the end

Guess what? i dare not say its okay, but it seems qiute alright now..... m also using a highers octane fuel now and I think its better now, The problem that Im facing now is the ticking engine noise, Its more like knocking than ticking. Is it only because of the worn out rocker arm? Is there a way to check if theres enough oil going into my cylinder head, Im actualy worried. The engine noise is alot noisier than the muffler,,, If the noise is not harmful than I should just cahnge a noisier muffler so that the engine noise is not noticablelol

Sorry haven't read all the threads so sorry if already mentioned.
Have you tried cleaning the gauze filter in the fuel tap?
had this on another bike. Spent ages finding the problem and in the end it was simple and easy to overlook.

thanx for the suggestion, but Ive already done that, thanx anyway.
Im planning to check my camshaft & my rocker arm, I cant stand the noise its really scary. The bike runs quite ok now but its really difficult to start especially when its cold, & sometimes It would even suddenly die even when its hot! Im planning to the buy the original 'plug coil' & see how it goes, after that I will check the noise...
    this means more $$$$$$$

Tried to use a fuel filter before but the one I got was too small, had problems with the flow, had to use a bigger filter, didnt bother with the filter because before it was okay without filter, but after almost 5 yrs in the garage maybe its about time to have a filter...

MOst dealers will sell "PETSEAL" very good product. Take you tank off empty it take the tap out and blank the hole off. Fill the tank with boiling water add the Petseal leave overnight empty the tank and leave to drain any water then it will seal your tank by lining the inside of the tank with a plastic layer. Does work well and costs about £20 if i remember correctly
