    fx 650 starter clutch bearing?

Hi Guys does anyone have any experience of how to remove the bearing in the starter clutch housing on a vigor 650 please? Also the teeth on the end of the shaft that comes out of the starter motor looks a bit gash can they be changed or will it require a new motor? Grateful for any help!

    good to hear that mate!

I also had just replaced mine, but had prob. coz didnt have the right tool to pull out the 'stuff'.

Finally its cranking again. but then had problems with the carbon brush, changed that one too. now the bike is ready, unfortunately its very difficult to start. Especially when cold. Once started its easily starts the next day, but If left for few days, Its difficult to start again.... does anyone has any clue??? My ignition coil is also not the original (im using a 150cc) coil, does this affect the starting process?? Ive notice when the rpm reaches 5000 It also looses it power and tend to jerk!

    Help me.

If its got a few miles on the clock, could be worth checking the valve clearances.

    Jerking Dommie

Its not a major problem right now coz I ride the bike everyday now, my latest & major problem is jerking.
Idling is fine is, even in rain,
    traffic jams riding also okay
but once I start to accelerate it tend to loose power, as if theres not enuff air in the air box, I noticed it will happened more frequent during rainy days ride, I reckon theres an electrical leakage sumwhere, maybe the plug coil wire or sumwhere, or water is getting into the carb. On other days it runs just fine (except for the ticking noise)

    Im really frusrated
How to check a wire leakage? Another mechanic suggest that I should check my earthing,
how do I check my earthing or earthlings....

    Hi Osama,

The first thing I would do it take the carb apart and clean it, and check everything seems to be working good. Carbs can be the cause of all sorts of strange running problems. Perhaps the high speed jet is getting stuff blocking it, seen as it idles well.

I don't know if the 150cc coil would have anything to do with this.

empty the carb before you stop the engine, or if you forget open the carb drain and let the fuel out and then close it and let the float bowl fill with fresh fuel, works evry time with mine

Re: fx 650 starter clutch bearing?

    Thanx guys....

Hope all of u are not bored

I really appreciate with all the answers, Ive actually suspected my carbs too...

I've actually strip the carb last weekend, everything seems 2b fine (to me) I've cleaned it & put it back together, one question, the diaphragm should stick permanently or can be easily removed and only stick once we screw the top part near the spring?? just curious.... mine can easily be peeled, but when I put it back together it looks okay... I hope u guys understand what Im saying, If the diaphragm supposed to stick maybe this is the problem???
Or due to not having a fuel filter, the rust from the fuel tank goes into my main pilot jet and clogged my jettings. when the dirt managed to escape the bike runs fine, but when the dirt gets in again dats when it the problem arise....
Tried to use a fuel filter before but the one I got was too small, had problems with the flow, had to use a bigger filter, didnt bother with the filter because before it was okay without filter, but after almost 5 yrs in the garage maybe its about time to have a filter...

It certainly wouldn't do any harm to put a filter on it, maybe it is little bits of rust getting in the thing.

It could cause the sort of intermittent problem you've got.

Yeah, Dave I sure hope rust is the culprit.... coz it can be easily fixed, I'll look into it this weekend.
I just cant afford anymore repairs, a faulty carb is the last thing I need!! Im really broke!

    Cheers
