What are the options for checking the oil temp on an '89 Dominator?.
Have found temp gauge dipsticks that replace the original one, but they are only for '95-on models.
Thanks.

The only option i know of is indeed the dipstick.
On ebay there are a few i think. Dont think there is a diffrence between the 95 and 88-94 sticks btw.
Yes there is a difference!
The ones that go in the RD02 are a lot bigger (diameter) than the RD08.
Gericke used to have them both, might want to check there.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll check at HG.
how about a Trailtech Vapour, I have one that got a temperature sensor on a copper ring that goes under the spark plug to measure cylinder head temperature, guess you could make a dip tube and slot the sensor in there?
you would also have a speed rpm and trip counter too
and the temperature reading would be on the dash and not at the oil filler

How do you get a RPM reading then? it needs some kind of adapter that fits the dommi cabel.
My speedo died so would be great replacement for me :P
rpm is simple, ( a thin wire wraps around the HT lead 5 times to act as a pick up )
speed is a small black sensor thingie with a magnet on the disc ( they supply a replacement bolt and a few other options to mount the magnet )
temp
water cooled :- its a short jumper pipe to insert in the hose line
Air cooled:- its a copper ring that goes under the plug and so give Cylinder head temperature
had one on the XLV for about 3 years now.. temp is for rear pot..
defo saved me doing some serious mischief when the rear carb pilot jet blocked and it was running real lean and the temp shot to 200+
