    SLR 650 Rev Counter(?)

    Hi guys!

I have recently aquired a SLR 650, which is great , but it doesn't have a rev counter.

I really dislike the lack of a rev counter on a bike, does anyone have any ideas on a fairly simple way to add one???

Thanks Mervin, they look great but perhaps a bit too comprehensive for what I need.
I just want a wee rev counter to whack next to the existing cluster. (If such a thing exists )

Look for cheap universal Tachometers on E-bay. THere's no bolt-on tacho for the SLR. Still, if you give it time, you won't need one

Thanks switch I'll watch out for one on ebay, I know I'd get used to it but I cant be sure of how far away from the red I am unless I have a rev counter...
Ill use it a bit more and see if I still think I'd need one

You're close to the redline when it stops pulling hard. You have a rev limited though so you can't bust it right away. I know my gut feeling tells me to shift before the redline (even before max power).

I had thought about that but I think (I MAY BE WRONG!!!) the SLR has no point on the engine for mounting a tacho cable . And the redline is lower on the SLR, based on the Vigor's clocks (Do they fit? ). If there is a point to put a tacho cable on then thats a great idea.

    Domi rev counters are electric.
Isn't the slr engine the same as a dominator? Different red line? Both RD02.

Mechanical redline is 8000RPM for all . Above that you can destroy valves.

Tachos get their signal from the CDI.
