how do you get the speedo cable loose on the wheel side

im trying to remove my speedocable but i cant get the cable side on the wheel out. I couldnt found much in the manual only that susposedly its being hold on place by 1 screw. So i removed the screw but its still impossible to remove. already broken half the cable while trying to pull it out

Are you certain you got all the screw out ? it may have snapped off and left a small amount inside which will be enough to sit in the grove and give a firm hold on the outer cable mount into the speedo unit.
Remove the wheel , then pull the speedo drive off and you should be able to see the cause of the problem, it could be just siezed into the speedo unit.

Thats the same speedo drive as my xr you just take the one screw where the silvery bit of ali is out and then it just pulls out. If you r having problems take th ewheel off and then remove the drive from the axle and you can take the drive apart from the backside at least then you'll see what the problem is

No what I mean is and what I said " All the Screw" ie the complete screw with all the thread.... in the singular.
How long was the screw you removed ?? or even simpler can you poke/push a thin screw driver all the way through the speedo drive assy.

It's either siezed solid due to grot or rot, or like I said you may have a portion of the threaded scew/bolt snapped of.... remove the drive unit check the screw hole is clear if it is, stick the unit in a vice and yank the cable drive fitting out.

The Domi ones (and some others) are made of some sort of alloy that corrodes with weather in front of the "O" ring on the end of the cable. Bet that's why it's tight coming out.
