sorry i haven't had time to have a better look at the choke. re jetting sounds expensive and like quite a lot of work any idea of what jets i would need etc?
also has any body tried redoing the valves?

The original air filter would be an option, rejetting isn't expensive if you do it yourself, i don't know what size of jet you would need, but someone on here will.
I wouldn't worry about the valves too much, I really doubt that would be the cause of the problem, its always carbs/fuel stuff (maybe not always...). And if rejetting seems like a lot of work/money, getting the valves lapped/head rebuilt is one heck of a lot more... £££££
i was just going to check there clearance make sure there not to tight
They need checked every so often and if you don't know when they were last checked, why not give it a shot. I don't think that would cause your problem but it is a good thing to check.
Does it have a vacuum tube to fuel tap,if so it could be that or the diaphram in the fuel tap knackered.
I am just guessing here![]()

You could have a faulty CDI. It can happen, because of the sheer age of the bike. In such a case, the bike would firethe spark all wrong, resulting in seemingly random rpm drops. Does your bike have problems all the time or only at idle?
Another problem could be a gummed up card idle jet. Cleaning should fix it.
For the brake lever, it could well be the brake pump that is worn and not the lever itself. The age is a definite killer on brake pumps after ~15 years. Repair kits and brake levers are available from wemoto.com
Ok had a good poke about this morning gaps are all spot on. The CDI I have found but no way of checking. But have found a hole in the rubber grommet under the air filter got no idea where to get a new one.
And the brake lever has a metal tab that isn't long enough to cover the switch so not sure about how to fix that.

OK pulled everything apart found a little thing on the the carb that is not moving so the lever is loose can ay one tell me what it does and how to free it up
fresh fuel, glued up the little rubber thing for now until i can find i new one.
thrown her all back together and started her up everything was grate for about 30 seconds
also relised to late that it was going on for 1 am and my neighbor came round to tell me tell me off (well had been made to by his better half) but on the plus side i gave him a cup of tea and explained that i had been locked in a battle with this problem for most of the day and lost track of time he understood and if i ever got it sorted he would love ago.
must be late i am rambling.
so it looks like switch was right i am looking for a new CDI if any one knows of where i can get one or a part number or if they are compatible with other bikes i would much appreciate the information.
and thanks again
