Front wheel noise FX650 Vigor 2000

Hi / Have a 2000 FX650 Vigor with 11,000 mls am getting a strange noise from front wheel . Had new brake pads fitted recently / does not appear to be the pads / piston or speedo / the sound is best described as a soft whistling noise / does not appear to be the pads rubbing against the disc could it be front wheel bearings ? Steering head bearings also needing replaced . Anyone else experienced similar problems ? \on the steering bearings are you better going for the geniune honda replacements or are others OK. Quite a difference in price. Appreciate any thoughts .
    Thanks

Pads rubbing against the disk is my bet. If you didn't clean the brake pistons, it's a likely culprit.

Still, bearings can easily be checked by just removing the wheel. No biggie.

I heard that there's a replacement for the OEM steering bearing that's both slightly cheaper and better in terms of function.

Thanks Switch / I will look at getting the piston / caliper stripped down to see if it helps Picasso
