Not all CDIs are the same.
- all dommie generations (89-91, 92-94, 95*-00) have different wiring harnesses; CDIs might NOT work in-between generations
- newer than ~1990 CDIs have an additional wire (sidestand cutoff)
- newer then ~1997-8 CDIs have a multi-tooth pick-up
*) '95 bikes can be Either 2nd gen (RD02) or 3rd gen (RD08.
