Greetings everyone. As per the title, i've been thinking of replacing my tires for a while now. Since it's summer the grip is good enough, plus i don't ride very fast or aggressively anyway. However, now that i got used to the bike, when i test my brakes on an empty piece of road and try to push the situation it seems as if the bike should be able to do more. So i'm thinking of replacing them somewhere around autumn (just in time for the rainy season), unless the hot weather and increased grip on my current ones really wears them out before the end of summer.

I got the bike used from a friend and the tires had relatively low mileage (certainly less than 10000km, maybe as low as 5000km), but they do have some wear simply because they are probably nearing two years old. I've been told it can happen over time simply due to changing weather conditions, from expansion/contraction due to temperature, etc. The other thing is that i was practicing a lot of swerving and emergency braking when i first got the bike to get the feel of it, so i have probably contributed a bit to their getting worn out.

Now, i think the ones i have on are dunlop roadsmarts and to be honest, they don't look bad. The centerline does look a bit worn compared to the chicken strips, but the tread on the chicken strips is not much deeper than the the one on the centerline. So on one hand they seem ok, but then i've been told that with bikes you should probably change a bit earlier than you would do for a car.
So, what simply worries me slightly is just the "feel" i get when i test it by braking aggressively, which i don't really need to do under normal circumstances as i mostly anticipate what could go wrong with traffic ahead and preempt things. However, it's just that "what if" feeling that's nagging me, knowing that at some point there might be a case where i'll have to push them to their limits.

What i'm looking for is a set of tires for normal, everyday use that will give a good mileage on our less than stelar road system (mix of good highways, bumpy inner-city streets with uneven surfaces and the occasional unpaved road in the countryside). So i'm looking for a balance between something that doesn't take ages to warm up and get good grip, without being something "racing spec" that warms up very fast but wears out just as fast.

I've seen good things being said about both the dunlop roadsmarts i have on, as well as the dunlop mutants which are supposed to be developed specifically for motard use. I certainly know from experience that the roadsmarts are good in rain and the mutants are supposed to be even better, plus their increased treading will help with bumpy roads and the occasional dirt/unpaved road (where my roadsmarts don't do that well).
Both of these come in the range of 300-330 Euros and while a bit steeper than other choices, i would go for it if i knew they give a good mileage. So, does anyone know about that? Also, any other reasons why i should or should not get them?

I also saw the Pirelli Diablos which are much cheeper (about 250 Euros), but i've heard that they are softer and while gripping very well, they get worn out much faster.

Finally, a lot of people talk about the MT-60 but i hear a lot of mixed opinions about them.

If anyone can give me a run down for the above choices (pros/cons, price/mileage, etc) i would be grateful, as well as any other brands or models you can suggest. Thanks in advance
