Ktm, hate,hate,hate

Why have they done this to me, why cant they just leave me alone !!!

I loved my Africa Twin, but seat was very compromised for 2 up, and it lacked power.

So i bought the Varadero, great two up and lots of power but heavy.

So i bought the 650 V Strom and to be frank i am now chuffed to bits with this bike after some mods

Sonic Front Fork Springs + 10wt Motorex Fork Oil - Front fork is way too soft and dives real bad when you even look at the brakes, now it is like a completely different bike, suspension is real smooth.

Renthal Standard Trail Bars - Standard set up is too upright puts too much weight on your spine and arse, this is much, much, much better.

Heated Grips - Comfort for old man.

Madstad Windscreen Bracket - Standard screen mounts are really terrible, hideous buffetting, now as smooth as a babys bum i can cruise at 90mph with my visor up !!

BUT and this is a big BUT today i went to Tri County Motorcycles in Bracknell and had a go on a 990 adventure and now i hate KTM with a real passion.

Bloody superb bike, modern day Africa Twin, same type of outline and geometry and big wheels and spokes, great looking, well engineered, it is and feels much lighter, good brakes, fabulous suspension and storming motor LIGHT THE BLUE TOUCH PAPER AND GO.

REALLY LOVED IT

How can anybody ride a KTM Adventure and then buy a BMW? beyond me.

I will keep the V Strom for now, but next year? !!!!!!! Think i will be coming to this Sub Forum

All the ktm boys here keep tellin peeps "Dont ride one" but they just wont listen!! .

There are a few exceptions , Airwolf, MelJ, PhilW, "J",who are men of strong will and resolute characters. (we'll get them eventually) who flatley refuse to go near a 990.
