    950 adventurer

I have just sold my GS and the problem is I have started reading these threads about adventures.
Could anyone tell me how much you should be looking to pay for an 04/05
(Private ) and any problems you should look out for

    Thanks

A Fiver sounds about right. I think Stan's selling his old steed.

Seriously if you do a search in the for sale section some of the fellers have either sold or talked about these machines.

prices go up and down, dealers will try to sell you one for about 6500 but if the keep an eye on fleebay and autotrader there are bargains available. anything from 4500 to 6000 for the 04/05 bike depending on extras, mileage, age etc.

    Re: 950 adventurer

good to see your after a proper 950 with the carbs,

The 05 had one or two new parts that updated it slightly for the better.

The gel seat and water pump seal, Clutch rod etc.. amongst others

I was toying with selling mine recently and after some research I reckon a really nice 05 950 with Panniers, crash bars etc...... would be around £5300 depending on a few things like condition miles etc.

some earlier 04`s around £4250-£4750 again very dependant on whats with it etc..

can depend on your size also, the earlier ones were very tall and the later ones from 05 etc were smaller, an 04 standard is the same as an 05 S version.

Iam 6ft 3 and can easily flat foot my 950 with both feet, in fact its the same size as the Africa Twin RD04

    Re: 950 adventurer

An 04 could be a problem for me then I am about 5 10". I did have a 2002 @ and that was no problem
I was toying with a 640 adv but I was told that they are bigger than the 950
Who knows what I will end up with, a late 05 looks like it could be out of my price range
