Just back from a 400km trip today (10% offroad). Never really bothered about fuel consumption before, as petrol is relatively cheap here, (sorry folks).
However, at 260kms, the reserve light can on and the 'sweaty brow' scenario of "where the hell is the next station?" deepened.

15kms later, found I only needed 16 litres to brim up, which worked out at around 48mpg, that was travelling at 85-100kph most of the first part of the trip. Got slightly better on the remaining 125kms, as I was tiring abit and not so eager to try and 'supermoto' corners.
Was out with 3 Beamer Boys (2x
12200 GS's and a beauty 1150GS) and another good man on 640 Adventure. Found the 1150GS took the same amount of fuel as me, at the first fill up, so all in all I was pretty chuffed with the bike's performance.

(PS I'll try and get the guys to send me some of their pictures, as I was too knackered repairing two rear punctures during the ride, in blue skies and 32 deg C heat!

I'll get my coat.........)
