    Which oil in your 990?

It would appear that I need a top up of oil. I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that I do after only 2000 miles, but there ya go.

Is everyone using the recommended Motorex Power Synt 4T 10W/50 ?

I am for sure, though I haven't needed a top up yet, you need much of one(a top up)?

Re: Which oil in your 990?

    Cie,

I use the Motorex 10w50. - fully synthetic.

And my engine drinks about 250ml - 300ml between services., and I try to check it about every 1000 miles.

From the bottom of the dipstick to the top is about 200ml.

A lot of phaphing around to check the level properly though !!!!

Why oh why ?? KTM never fitted the wee manometer tube to the outside of the oil tank on the 990 adv , like they do on the Superduke 990 is beyond me.
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

Of course, the reason I ask is because it's not the kind of oil you get at Halfords, so I'll have to travel a bit to get some. Not a problem, Verwood here I come.

Mine uses a little bit too, not much tho.

I use the 10/50 stuff i get from KTM at Hemel. When the warranty is up the bike will be "Home fettled".....should save a bloomin fortune then !!.
