Hey Doug,
Mine is running Metzler Sahara's which seem to be a reasonably good compromise between road and trail and are reasonable in the wet (although they're pretty "vibey" on the road). There was another 690 which had Bridgestone Trailwings on it (I think). He was quicker on the black stuff and did alright on the tracks, but had a very hard time of it in the mud.
Speaking of the shakes; this article might be of interest to you: CMG Online - Canadian Motorcycle Guide - KTM 690 Adventure project bike - part 1
I had a chat with my KTM dealer and there's a rubber riser kit available in the UK, but after looking at prices it's going to be about £70 cheaper to bring in one of those Rox ones.
Also give your petrol tank a good shaking: ktm 690 enduro - ADVrider Seems to be a problem specific to Yank KTM's but is probably worth checking to be on the safe side.
