Fork seals and new oil have i done right?

I’ve just had a go at changing my fork seals which I think is a success
(have to go for a ride on it to be sure) but I’m not sure if I’ve put the oil in
Right, (yes I know I should have asked the question before starting the job)
I found some good demos on You tube which helped but when it came to
The oil my internals didn’t match any I could see, so what I have done is
Just pour 700mm into the forks and put the caps on and then pushed them
Up and down a few times then put then back on the bike, is it that simple
Or am I missing something out.
    The bike is a 950s 2003 adventure

According to the main dealer that I spoke to about this (Sideways KTM), and bearing in mind that this would be for a 2003 KTM 950 Adventure - not the S.
    • Remove top fork cap
    • Remove spring
    • Fully compress Fork all the way down
    • Fill with 5W oil until you have a 100mm air gap from the top.
    • Drop the spring back in
    • Screw the fork cap back on
    • Re-assemble fork
    Repeat with the other fork.

Now I know that the S is slightly different so you might want to check the air measurement gap with your local dealer.

And I can heartily recommend air bleeders if you want to stop blowing oil through the fork seals.

Thanks for that, thats not have i did it i knew just pouring in the oil was to simple, i have taken mine out for a ride today and i must say they are much better now then before i did them, i have air bleeders on mine already. Thanks for the information and when I have to redo them at least I now know how to next time. ( I have been told that the oil will fill up all the right places in the forks but I will just have to bleed a lot more air out of them first, so i think I'll leave then for now and see how i get on

    Thanks again for the info

    Fork Leg R&R

Use this link Ashley There is a right way to install the forks after removing them from the yokes.

    Hope it helps.
