Hi SPG,
Believe it or not I thought I wanted a Harley, I just fancy a change from big trail bikes which I have been riding for many years now. I want a big comfy bike for me and the wife to go holidays on. With that in mind I took a Harley out today. I hated it, it wallowed through the corners in an unsafe manner and bottomed out without warning to a point that it was dangerous. After returning to the shop I discovered the previous owner had lowered the suspension by adding after market shocks. I can’t understand why anyone in their right mind would take a bike that doesn’t handle that good in the first place and make it worse.
I know several local Harley owners and they are good guys but after looking at some of the modifications on bikes in the Harley shop I have come to the conclusion some Harley owners should not be allowed near a bike or anything else mechanical for that matter. Harley dealers are even worse because they encourage people to make modifications because it lines their pockets.
Think I will give the new Triumph Thunderbird a try.

not thought about the Varadero???
Two up touring and very comfy
if your confident enough it will go softroading as well
I think the Varadero could be the answer or perhaps the new shape Tiger as its got a nice big looking seat. Not sure about passenger comfort on the Tiger though. Im going to give another cruiser a try but if they are all as bad as that Harley I will be giving up on that idea.Im not dead yet i still want to have fun on a Sunday run.

All is forgiven KTM.
I must have been mad, there is no way Im changing my KTM for any other bike. Ho-well you know what its like the grass is always greener on the other side and all that. Im leaving the forsale ad up as I if anyone buys it I may upgrade to a new 990.

You Know When You've Been TANGO'ed![]()
Carefull, re the 990 Adv, a mate has one and we swapped for a day, he loved mine and apart from a big difference in engine braking,( 990 much better ) its NOT better than the 950, so do what i am going to do which is the same as you, spend some time and money on yours!!!!!
Re seats and height, the Tourateck low one has the gel seat insert BUT you will still get the numb bum thing after 100 miles.
I cut out the foam and cut in some gel i have had for a few years, then got it re covered by a local upholster, for £20.00, works for me and i am 5'8''.

Glad you saw the "Light "!!!!!
Don’t know what got into me, just got an idea in my head and couldn’t shake it. I almost kissed my KTM outside the Harley shop after the test ride.
DIY on the seat is not a good idea for me, anyone who knows me and has seen the state of my DIY jobs around the house can vouch for it.
