ktm 520 exc

hello people, i popped over here from the xr forum as i am looking at getting a new bike as the xr600 is in need of some tlc and possibly a new piston, so I'm looking at the ktm 520 or the 525 exc for a new bike.
there are no 520's on flea bay but i have seen a 2001 51 plate for sale in my local mx shop but he wants 1900 for it,
the bike is a tad tatty and is in need of a good clean.
my question is, is that about the right price for a 520 ?

KTMs need a bit more TLC than Hondas so i'd be inclined to have a look at other bikes unless the dealer is willing to give some sort of warranty with the bike...which is unlikely as KTM don't give any more warranty than 30 days even when the bike is brand new.

Take a look at UK KTM Forum - Powered by vBulletin as quite often there are one or two good bikes in the 'for sale' section.

PS...i like my KTM 450 EXC which replaced my XR400R as my race bike.More than enough bike and as quick as a 525 in most circumstances.
