    Scorpions (Pirrellis)

Was coming home from our MC Xmas party in Cebu yesterday, 'sweeping' for a gaggle(giggle?) of our lads' Harleys ahead of me and noticed a distinct change in my Katie's behavior. Coming thru a series of twisties, lining up the Adventure as usual at each corner, then proceeding with my "point and squirt" method of corner exit, she definitely didn't feel as right/stable on the rear end as she normally does.
The rear tread is about 1/3 left after 6900kms, tyre pressure was correct, 37-38psi, (I had no pillion) and the road was clean/dry. I got the distinct impression she's not a "happy gripper" at the moment.
Anyone had a similar experience with the Scorpions?

Actually, only 2 San Miguel Pilsens, then headed to the ladies' fruit punch with real strawberries, (non alcoholic, unless some ratbag slopped in some vodka when I wasn't looking!), much to the dismay of most of our members too!
(Before anyone starts, I get occasional hot flushes from the medication I injected with quarterly and that usually finishes any other evening, 'medicinal' intakes!)

If the tyre profile is squaring off, that could give a nervous feeling when tipping into corners

Hmmmm, don't look that too bad to be honest Don.

Maybe it's just in your head?

For peace of mind, just get the back end off the ground, and give everything a pull around to check the wheel bearings and swingarm bearings. You could try the front end as well, wheel and headstock bearings.

Even if it's not these, it will re-assure you in the the head that the bike is OK.

My case is packed, the taxi ordered, the flight booked, so I'll be over soon

    Hi Don,

I have a set of worn Scorpions on mine at the moment and they feel very 'vauge'. I have heard on other forums that this is a trait of this tyre once the rear is quite worn.

I am just wearing mine out to the limlt and then it will be back to knobblies for me (either Karroo's or TKC's)
