Just kidding.
My engine is done and ready to drop back into the frame and before I put it back in I have decided to polish the engine casings instead of painting them.
I have started with 220 grit sand paper and work my way through 600 then 400 wet and dry but its I long and tedious task.
I have got my BBC iplayer tuned to radio 1 pumping loud music through my amp.
With the help of some homegrown tobacco that keeps mysteriously popping up in my garden, my clutch casing should be ready for a photo op later this afternoon, I will post a photo when I get bored, finished or stop for a munchies break and a cold beer.
Is it just me or do others find polishing theraputic?:blob2:

PS, anyone recommend any good radio stations online that would help make the job more tollerable? :happy10::happy10::happy10:

Hi All. I shall be taking a run down to Stonehenge for the summer solstice on June 21st to see the sacrificial virgins being slayed at sunrise! Heading from Bath at 0330AM to get down for sun up at 0452. Been there on the solstice before but never for sunrise. Weather dependant to a point. Probably head off for a run towards Midhurst, Hampshire afterwards for a late breakfast before a blat back across the plain. Free access to the stones and parking. The hippy in me is trying to get out again!:toothy4:

The long winter and disappointing Spring has no doubt curtailed some of the early riding season activities but hopefully most of us are getting some decent riding in now. That being the case I would like to remind everyone that the XRV Photo Competition is up and running and I urge everyone to have a go and enter their photos in the Charity Calendar thread over the coming weeks. Follow link for competition rules and where to post your photos.

http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/charity-calendar/

Members are entitled to enter up to 3 photos and you will be invited to vote for your favourites at the end of August. The winners will have their photos printed in the XRV 2014 calendar (available via the forum from October).

All the proceeds from the sale of the calendars will be donated to charity (50% to the Alan Vardy charity and 50% to Motorcycle Outreach) so please give your support to the project.

XRV members have produced some great quality calendars in previous years, thanks to your great photos and the efforts of DigitalCaptive to produce the calendars. With his guidance, I 'm happy to pull the thing together this year....just need your photos now, so over to you boys and girls!

Anyone got any thoughts or reccomendations for the KLX650. I am hopefully going to obtain one very soon, and would appreciate any pointers on what I should look for. AND any recommended mods / upgrades to make?

Many Thanks,

Lightweight , simple , old fashioned and does the job..water hot enough for a brew in 5 minutes..comes with a couple of pots, frying pan and seperate handle. Uses pink spirit to fuel it...does me :blob3:

After setting my valve clearances yesterday so they was spot on, today they have dissapeared into thin air.
With four revolutions of the engine they are still tight. with no gap.

1st revolution there is a click from the valves as the piston rises up to TDC........no gap.
2nd revolution, no click on the way to TDC and no gap.
3rd revolution same as 1st revolution.
4th revolution same as 2nd.
I am assuming summits up and I need to do em again.:withstupid:
Just not sure what.
