Vigor Parts on a SLR ?

Does anyone know if Vigor parts fit on a SLR ?

I'm interested in a tank, headlight, headlight cowl, and maybe the seat, the side plastic cover and the pipes. Basically I want my SLR to look like a Vigor. :blob4:

Honda just does not build the bike i want, so I'm thinking I will have to build it myself, so I have a few questions. Has anyone fitted a NX tank and faring to a XR650L, and does an XR650L rear wheel have a cush drive? Any help or suggestions would be great.

Because I visited this site for lots of information, I'd like to introduce myself.
I'm Erik from The Netherlands. Few months ago I bought a Africa twin rd-04 from '91. I'm loving it. Although right now it's a lot of work fixing lots of small problems (Breaks, cables, fuel pump, bodywork...).

Just want to say hi, Ive just got hold of a 92 RD04 have always wanted one for years so it joins the Aprilia Tuono and the husky TE450 in the garage.
I was going to trade the Aprilla on a KTM Adenture but I couldn't resist the old XRV.
I cant wait to do some rides and maybe do a few mods to it.
This looks like a great forum with some very knowledgeable people on board.

Hi Boys and Girls, I have returned to biking after 20 odd years. I was actively looking for a bike since last summer with the thought of buying this year when the weather improved. The only bikes I was interested in was the "adventure" type, tall with an upright sitting position. I test rode several bikes including the Triumph Tiger, BMW F650GS etc. Looking at various forums most bikes seemed to have some sort of generic problem. This Transalp forum which I checked everyday confirmed to me that the new TA was hard to beat for its reliability, so with in mind I test rode a used Transalp 700 (09 PLate) late December 2009 and bought it straight after. The bike came with heated grips, centre stand, scott oiler and Honda topbox. As I start to ride the bike more I expect to come back for advice, though luckily searching through the forum I have found a couple of answers I needed.

Am buying a bike. Might share it with a neighbour. What scope is there for having two owners and equal shares in an insurance policy?

Alternatively, what scope for a club owning a bike and all members being insured?

Also it will be for off-roading (it is road legal and will have lights and an MOT) so what options are available to me?

Sitting here thinking and was wondering ... dangerous I know but ...

Several different front ends have been used by various peeps here, CR250, KTM and so on, and they needed respringing etc.

What about a trumpet tiger front end? I doubt very much it would need anything other than to be set up and I would also suspect it weights the same, but there are loads about, decent quality and they take a 19" wheel which is still viable for off road use etc.

Thoughts of the XRV massive?

I have a Honda Transalp XL650V 57 reg and I have the original rear exhaust can. I am thinking of changing this. Can anyone recommend a good rear can to fit and if so can you let me know the supplier and the approx cost? Also has this made any improvement tp the bike? I have already removed the catalyst.

Hi, I'm new to there 'ere supermoto/enduro lark but after having an array of road bikes I fancy either the XR650, CCM R30 or KTM (not yet sure of any particular model, but no lower than 650).

Well all know about Honda build quality, but what about the others, I would be using it mainly for road use so will be a s/moto. Can anyone shed any light on these makes good or bad.

I know this is a Honda site and getting pulled towards the XR for some reason. Thanks for any help

Well, the SLR just aced it's MOT today:cheers:. More a credit to it's previous owner,than to me, as I haven't done a tap to it since I got it.
Still, we're almost road legal now, as soon as I get my amended policy In the post, I can get it taxed.
On order already, a larger Givi screen and, if I can secure the funds from Er Indoors, or sneak them out without her noticing, (UNLIKELY). I'm after a Hepco and Becker rack. Seems it's all there is, still it should be good quality.

As the Africa Twin is now approaching old age the replacement panels are becoming harder to source.
Our buses have plastic panels that were sent to a firm in Addington and had moulds made so now they can replace the parts with Fibreglass.
If I could get the details and idea of prices would you AT owners be interested in having fibreglass Fairing panels to replace the original plastics?

hi all,
just done me plugs:mad::mad::mad: and new airfilter so had to take tank off and fairing and radiator:(:(.

In the process the ***** fuel line from tank to pump snapped probably dueto age and winter riding managed a bodge with plastic connector.

But realy need a better solution for tank removal so though of these;

any one got/use them and what they like for failed "O" ring washers ssem a good Idea AND saves a lot of greif :thumb:.

Also fitted new clutch cable and managed to melt cable due to bad routing:( so not having a good Day still you live and learn and also have a few spare/discarded bits off the Alp.

Bike has really been off the road since start of Dec. Its had a new piston and head re done so I stripped most of it down and started giving a good service. Bought new plastics and found some frame guards. Clarke tank from the States and graphics. need to get out now

hi all!

monuments should be build for my ineptitude but can anybody direct me to a thread where sticky choke cable problem was covered extensively.

dont wanna delve into what has been covered before but my 98 AT is guzzling 7,2 lits for 100 km in traffic where you people state an ave of 5,6 (some 5,2!!!).

havent had the time since last time but still on top of my list is:
1.K&N air filter condition uncertain
2.plugs condition uncertain
3.sticky choke cable PLEASE REFER ME TO A PAST THREAD
4. after market exhaust backfiring after 4000 rpms (the pipe has the looks but everything is wrong with it)

appreciate a link to past threads. relevant keywords on seach engine yields diminishing returns...infact the only hit is mine, which is less than enough.
