    TRF, local trail routes etc

Hi, I'm interested in finding more local, legal unsurfaced tracks in the area, (N.Yorks, Yorks Dales, N.Yorks Moors, Weardale etc), where is the best place to find this info, I haven't looked at or joined the local TRF, I assume that should be the first port of call.

Is there anywhere else to get maps, routes etc for offroad routes?

    Thank's, Phil

    Russ suggested the following:

    http://www.way-finder.co.uk/

I haven't found it so great for my area as hardly any routes are listed so I'd be the pioneer maybe, not sure how it works. Still worth a look though.
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

word of warning that wayfinder is very bad in making sure of legal access ( got 3 out of 5 wrong in this area!), nearly every 'green lane' in this country has or is covered with some sort of access restriction, ignore these and some councils (backed by the farmers, RA etc etc) will have you in court and fined before you know it.

ALWAYS check with the definitive map before you use ANY right of way, as court cases only help the RA to strengthen its argument to have all lanes down graded to footpaths.

Phil, I was out with some TRF guys last weekend on the KTM. It's worth joining and going along to get your maps marked up. There are a lot of lanes in dispute at the moment and they have some special permissions to ride lanes closed to the public. They are a friendly bunch and the beer is cheap in the Ranch house..!
