    Overland to India

Watched, openmouthed, a programme about the Ganges the otherday so now I'm thinking about riding to India. Found a couple of posts on the web about routes but has anyone come across a good book about doing this?

Interesting, Phoenix, who is a regular poster on this forum is a very good mate of Geoff Hill, might be worth dropping him a PM and see if you can contact the man himself for advice.

    Dave

I rode overland from the UK to India in 1995. Only had 31 days to do the journey in, actually did it in 24. I think about it daily. I will have a look to see what books are available. I'm sure Lonely Planet or someone produced a Istanbul to Kathmandu guide. If you are serious about it, I will be glad to pass on any info on routes etc.

    Baluchiman,

    Wow.

    I love this site!

Realistically I'm thinking a couple of years off so lots of thinking to do but it's serious thinking rather than the idle sort. I'm sure there's huge amounts of talking that could be done and there's time for that yet but any early pointers much appreciated.

    Cheers

Geoff is my mate too! Well he climbed ben nevis with me on st paddy's day. Still haven't read that book though. The other guy who was with Geoff to india, Paddy, is actually a member here as he has a tranny but he doesn't use it much and is not on the site much. He also was up the ben with us and i had to share a room with him and boy does paddy snore!

Well thats enough of my life story for now i guess.
