    Turkey

Anyone looking for something a bit different. Have a look at:
Http://www.ommriders.org/t/01/sub.jsp?p=3174Paolo Volparea the site owner and leading light of the OMM, is an Italian who worked for some years in England. He is a bit of an elitist and has the touch of Mussolini about him, but he does organize some good rides - Great rides, if you are into antiquities. There is some good links.

Turkey is very doable in three days, either overland or via Italy and Greece. With virtually all the small roads in Turkey being different sizes of gravel, or just dirt, there is plenty of opportunity to practice your off road skills.

The 2009 Varadero International Meeting - VIM - is being held in Turkey, I think all Honda adventure/tourers and dirt bikes would be welcome.

Dont go putting ideas like that in my head!

I can certainly vouch from personal experience that the ride down to Turkey is quite an experience and well worth it.

Wherabouts is this meeting being held?

The location will not be announced until October/November 2008 at which time it will be possible to register on line, stating accommodation requirements. Then usually by the end of February 2009. a deposit, or even full payment is required.

This delay is because before then in May 2008 there is the VIM in Hungary - details Will be available on line in October/November 2007.

With the international Transalp rally being held in Greece a week earlier, there a number of us looking a tour that takes in both the Transalp rally and the VIM Hungary. They could be done in 2 weeks, if taken from Wednesday to Wednesday.
