    Beaches in Scotland

Just wondering if anybody knows of any beaches in Scotland where we can legally ride. A really great place would be Tentsmuir in Fife but I think it would be of dubious legality taking the XR on there.

Like most of the countryside up here its a case of not getting caught, the legal side is not exactly clear.
I know in the north east of scotland you can get on the beach at bridge of don[northside of the river/Aberdeen city] and get all the way up to newburgh it a good distance we used it to train the horses for endurance riding.

You can also get on at balmedie beach[ north of aberdeen][lots people there though] and a bit further south of balmedie at black dog beach. And you can get on at newburgh as well south side of river[town side] North side of river has a way to get on but its a nature reserve.

Im not sure how the access is at the moment as its been a while but cant see them being able to stop the kids and theres always bike/atv tracks around the beach as well the fishing nets tractor tracks so there is def still bits to get on.

STay off the dunes thats one way to get lifted by cops or dead.

Watch yourself at blackdog cadets rifle/gpmg range behind the dunes.

There is sinking sand in bits[ not the disappear forever kind but the oh **** my horse has sunk upto the saddle kind].

The pools of water and water beach side of the sandbanks can also go deep real quick[ my brother found out his scrambler couldnt swim there].

Best places are probably west coast remote areas noone to complain to the police there. North east is nearly always populated at beaches.

I used the beaches, or macher as it's called out there, on the Outer Hebrides.

Only thing I had to dodge was dead whales and washed up mis-fired missiles - made for a fun afternoon or two

Its true - I've got several sperm whale vertebrae and shoulder blade bones sitting round my garden as ornaments - all recovered from the beaches on the Uists.

Not got too many bits of missiles sitting round though - wonder why ?

Freak your neighbours out a bit,

At least you would know what to do with them, sort of a constant reminder of a past occupation.
