    Smile Great route in Buckinghamshire

I have found the following route absoultely sublime with a mixture of fast roads and testing country roads.

A41 to Chesham, follow signs for Chesham and Amersham (through some nice villages and bends). Once you're through to Chesham follow signs for Amersham and Old Amersham. Go through Old Amersham, following signs for Great Missenden. Once you hit Great Missenden turn right at the first mini-roundabout then straight over the next. The road will shortly after split in two, take the left fork (watch for idiots in BMW 4 wheel drives coming over the bridge).

You will then find yourself on a fantastic country road with a lot of bends, some almost hairpin. Go right to the end of this road following signs for Butlers Cross (nice views and not nice smells!). Through Butlers Cross following signs for Princess Riseborough, going through some nice sharp bends up and down hill. Through some other random places going back following signs for Aylesbury and Stoke Mandeville. Once you get near Aylesbury either continue through Aylesbury via A41 (once past Aylesbury you go through Wadham and other places) or back following signs for London and Amersham.

There are lots of A and B roads and nice pubs etc and viallges. Enjoy

Anywhere en route to put you through your figure of eight paces?

Sounds good. I'll follow you the end of the earth (or a dead end housing estate, whichever comes first).

You're welcome and if you find some good turns en route do let me know. I travel this route a lot. Avoid Wendover woods though, horrific road surface even in a car.

PS smile and wave if you pass me on the bike!!
