    Ok tour-x!
    Where will I start………..
I have for years wanted the perfect helmet and when the tour-x came out I thought “that’s it”. Until I saw the price! Just this Summer I finally made up my mind and got one and I have to say I’m disappointed. For the price I think it doesn’t cut it .
The two things about my Arai NR (superseded by the condor) that bugged me were the fixed lining that is a pain to wash and the fact that I wanted a peak to keep the sun out of my eyes, other than that I loved it so much that I bought 3.
I now realise what I am now missing; the TX isn’t as comfy , the visor is a pain to take off for cleaning, at least 5 minutes with a coin whereas the NR I could pop the visor off without even taking the lid off my head, the edge off the visor is in my eye line when it’s open, it’s a bit clunky in operation , I find the visor doesn’t clear as well in wet weather and I don’t think the build quality is as good ( rough edges ). Oh and I can’t get it into my top box with the peak on.
That said, The peak is brilliant at keeping the sun out of my eyes and doesn’t make a huge difference at high speeds and it does feel airier around the face and the top vents are very good.
I did try a HJC version (It’s called something different here) and I hated it, it really felt bad to me and I hate clip type fasteners, Couldn’t find the marushin or the Nolan either. Would I get another? Not till it gets better……..

Got the Charcoal Airoh S4 off ebay , new £100. everything the tour X has at less than half the price and anything it doesn`t i will live with for a saving of £170! Fits well, wind noise ok, liner comes out etc etc The visor does not open as far as the Arai but as i got it for winter thats not an issue . Looks good, pleased with it all round.
